Welcome to Recovery at the
The Unity Club of Falls Church, Virginia is a meeting place for members of Alcoholics Anonymous and fifteen other recovery fellowships based on the 12-Steps of AA.
Now, how about something a bit less "Articles of Incorporation" and a bit visceral, like:
“I would be dead, right now, without the Unity Club,” states Dawn C. in her very matter-of-fact, but very alive way.
Hmm? Long pause of reflection. Okay, while you think about that, let us hear from a few other members and guests of the Unity Club.
"This is home base," says Boris P. "The Unity Club is my safety net and has been for awhile now as I've struggled with recovery."
Longtime member Larry W. thinks, "The Club and the fellowship I’ve found within the meeting rooms make me whole."
On the other hand, perhaps newcomer Ken D. has it nailed when he exclaims, “this is a place of hope!”
Back to that reflection -- no, The Unity Club does not keep people alive, but it sure gives those new to recovery an opportunity to stay that way while they’re working on a different way of living.
Old-timers and Newcomers Unite!
Okay, you’ve survived the too tough stuff and you're on the road to recovery -- sort of.
Well, if you're in Northern Virginia and the Washington, DC Metro area, the Unity Club is a 12-Step club where newcomers are eagerly embraced by the guys and gals who’re already working "The Program". Whatever program, or fellowship, you’re attending (We host 16 of them at the moment), you’re sure to find a few folks willing to assist with your recovery, as you assist with theirs. It will make sense later, trust us just for a bit.
Broke and new to recovery, Don A. perhaps says it best, "I came to my first meeting on Saturday. An hour-and-a-half later I was still broke, but had an experienced sponsor, a Big Book, and hope. I surely had some hope."
That's how it is around here. This is a place of hope, change, and opportunity to recover. This is where we "Carry the Message" to those still suffering. This is the Unity Club.
What You'll Find on this Web Site:
Our web is fairly simple. The "beef" is our meeting schedule, surprisingly enough, found under "meetings" on the menu bar. You can also find information about special events and leasing the Club under meetings as well.
The second most popular part of our web is how to get here. As if by magic, found under "Directions".
And so on and so forth. Explore, have fun. Become a member (although membership is NOT required to attend meetings). DONATE money so that we can continue our noble pursuits of providing a safe, secure environment for recovery while we "Carry the Message".
Even in the event that you cannot find what you're looking for on this web site, then chances are (if it is 12-Step Recovery info you're after) that we have links to it in our links section.
